Ah, Canadian News...

As quoted from Canada.com:

After the initial incident at 1 pm., police strung yellow tape across Yonge St. and shut down dozens of businesses along Yonge and in the upscale Yorkville shopping district, and evacuated the Toronto Reference Library.
Reporters stood in clumps by the tape, starved for information.
"It must be a big deal," one reporter said. "They've closed Yonge St."
A local resident responded, "It's bigger than that. They've closed Tim Hortons."

My food is playing with me...

So I`m in this import food shop here in Japan. all kinds of neat stuff. and Pringles! Pringles are available at most of the convenience stores here but only in two flavours, crap and crap with less salt. but in the import shop it`s a whole other world; they`ve got Jalapeno, Cajun something-or-other, Consomme (yes, like the soup), Cheezums, and about half a dozen I`ve never even heard of like Bacon-Mint (okay, i might be making that last one up...) ANYway, i see this one pack and the Pringles have WRITING ON THEM!! each chip is gloriously emblazoned with some random piece of trivia from the Guiness Book of World Records!!! this may not be news to you folks back home, but it was news to me. so i bought a box to take in to work to use as conversatiion starters but Ulala and i ate them all. oops. now my stomach AND my brain are filled with useless trivia. and they both kind of ache... meh. worth it.

the best things in life...

So i`m sitting here this evening, enjoying a Red Stripe Jamaican Lager, listening to the rain outside, watching The Godfather on TV (but no commercials) and sorting through the fat stack of vinyl i just picked up from a friend. It doesn`t get much better than this...

cacaphonetic,
hard spring rain, t.v. gunshots,
and records spinning.

yup. it`s a haiku.

Ulala`s Birthday

These are also a little late, but here are some pictures from Ulala`s Birthday (March 10th). She and i met up with Masako and Ryo and went to a nice little Yaki-niku restaurant around Miyakojima area. the food was awesome and (as usually happens at these things) i ate entirely too much beef. we also had beef tail soup, which was a lot better than i expected.
ANYway, here are the pics:
