So the other day i was in the Osaka city tax office to talk about my tax that is owing and to try and get the late fees reduced or removed from the payments i missed while out of the country. No dice. Meh, No big deal, but it was worth a shot. (This is my new attitude towards this tricky kind of stuff: Learn, pay, don`t complain, learn more.) ANYway, point is on the way out, after having thoroughly gone over the municipal taxation system, i notice that on the table where people fill out their forms and whatnot, alongside the provided pens and forms and instructions, there are READING GLASSES!! I fell in love with Japan all over again. One comes to pay one`s tax and they provide glasses for older citizens who might have trouble reading the tiny printed characters on the cramped tax forms! Not only that, but they provide three different strengths of lenses! Now that is service. Take a note, Canada. =)
